Astronomy Lesson with Students

Terry Kemper, a passionate astronomer, shared his knowledge and expertise with East Hampton students on May 9. Mr. Kemper and his colleague, Todd Wishersham, brought three telescopes with solar filters so students could watch Mercury travel in front of the sun.

Mr. Kemper travels all around the world photographing solar eclipses. He has compiled his work into a presentation, which he shared with two physics classes and one astronomy class. The science department is very grateful to Mr. Kemper for providing this unique learning experience.
