Poetry Out Loud 2020

This year, East Hampton High School students participated in the national Poetry Out Loud competition for the first time in many years. Students from English 10 classes memorized a poem and held classroom competitions, and several students from other grades worked on their own to memorize a poem and join the competition. These students faced off in a school-wide event on Wednesday, January 8th. The event was judged by English teacher Georgia Flight, English/ Special Education teacher Kate Rubenstein and school librarian Mike Buqquichio. The winner was junior Lucie Sarrazin, with Keishauna (Keke) Mitchell as the runner-up. The girls will compete against all school winners from Suffolk County at Stony Brook University on February 3rd.
